FOOD DRIVE 2009

On Saturday, May 9th Littleton letter carriers will join others across the US in the "Stamp Out Hunger" day. This is the 17th year that letters carriers have helped collect non-perishable food items to support local food banks.

The North Country United Way encourages individuals to assist with this worthwhile initiative as all of the food items support local food banks.

Letter carriers are requesting that people leave non-perishable food items in a plastic bag at their mailbox on Saturday, May 9th for letter carriers to pick up and deliver to the US Post Office. Anyone who does not have a mailbox is encouraged to drop off items at the Littleton Post Office on Main Street in Littleton, NH.

Community Question....

Why should I consider giving to United Way rather than to a single non-profit agency?

Often people need the help of more than one agency for housing, healthcare, job training, childcare, substance abuse treatment, transportation, etc. Donating to United Way takes into consideration the interdependent needs and full range of services required to make a meaningful and lasting impact in people’s lives.
United Way is focused on community problems –
access to healthcare, housing, preventing substance abuse – that no one organization can fix.
Your support for United Way enables us to get people to work together to find lasting solutions that will benefit all of us who live and work here.
