What is the North Country United Way?
W
e’re an independent, non-profit organization incorporated in Lisbon, NH in the Fall of 1979. Our mission is to develop resources for local, participating health and human service agencies.

Over the years, many local human service providers have been participating agencies. Currently, 17 organizations share the revenue developed during our annual fund raising effort. This effort is most noticeable during the fall, when most all United Way organizations conduct their campaigns. However, it continues year round with special events.

Who governs the North Country United Way?
Our governance is provided by local community leaders and volunteers who meet monthly to review and assist with all aspects of our operation – from setting operating budgets to speaking to other local organizations about the North Country United Way.

Where does my United Way contribution go? Who decides how it will be used?
Y
our contribution stays here in our communities, helping your friends, family neighbors, and perhaps even yourself.

North Country United Way serves the communities of Bath, Benton, Bethlehem, Dalton, Easton, Franconia, Haverhill, Landaff, Lincoln, Lisbon, Littleton, Lyman, Monroe, Piermont, Sugar Hill, Twin Mountain, Warren, Whitefield, Woodstock.

Trained volunteers from your own community or workplace make informed decisions about how contributions can be used most effectively. You may wish to become a volunteer yourself! If you would like to serve in this important capacity, call 603-444-1555

Why should I give to United Way instead of directly to a charity?
Many people appreciate the convenience of being able to automatically make a tax deductible contribution through the payroll giving plan. They realize they can conveniently give a larger gift throughout the year.
